The frozen lake

It was a very harsh winter these past weeks, imagine walking outside to catch the bus and it is minus 11 degrees. I need to skid and balance on ice blocks as the roads and pavement was frozen and icy. Sharp cold wind and snow just hits your face and eyes. Well praise God for warm appartments, hot bubble baths, soothing herbal teas and heated busses and trams. What a blessing.
Well here are some shots I took while I was walking in the woods nearby, and i was able to take shots of the frozen lake. unfortunately we were not allow to skate on the lake as the authorities said that the ice is not strong enough to skate on. Last few years ago, we were able to take our skates and just skate on the vast lake.

A walk in the woods

Today I decided to take a stroll once again to the woods nearby my home. I love going to the woods and walking around the lake. Taking walks and just enjoying nature is the most relaxing activity I have discovered. I took my camera along this time, as i miss taking pictures when the lake froze a few days ago. A few years ago, the community were allowed to skate on the lake as the ice was thick enough. This year the weather has not been cold enough. Well perhaps next year I am able to take the pictures of the frozen lake. So... do tell me what you think of my pictures.

My birthday celebration with my cell group

I am so bless to have friends to celebrate my birthday with. My cell group organised a birthday and christmas dinner. We sang some christmas songs, drank champagne and enjoyed cheese fondue on a cold winter evening. What a bliss to stay indoors and just enjoy fellowship with each other. We did gift swaps, not as fanatic as in LRC. phew... My cell gave me a german NIV bible and it was really what I always wanted as I have a king james german bible. Finally I have a portable german bible to take along to church and cell. We had a great evening just being with each and the the desert, heavy duty choco orange cake ended the evening blissfully. So forget about dieting during this season, I shall do more exercise next year ;-) ... promise.

My birthday celebration

I have been so bless to read of all the greetings and postings on Facebook from all over the world, from family and friends. Thanks you so much guys for making me feel so special and love.

Here are some pictures taken during my birthday lunch at my home. I had invited a few close friends and just had a nice time enjoying each other's company. I feel so blessed and privledge to have all of you in my life.

My cake was specially made by a dear malaysian friend Chong who lives in Zurich. I have finally found someone who makes great pandan cake !!! Chong made me chocolate orange cake, dusted with pearls and gold dusts. The picture I have taken does not do justice, it taste heavenly too. My first cake made by the hands of a malaysian !! A prophetic act reminding me of goodness and mercy from God.

ALL OF YOU ARE SUCH A TREASURE TO ME, THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DAY SO SO SPECIAL, WISH I COULD CELEBRATE IT WITH ALL THOSE TOO OUTSIDE OF THE BOUNDARIES OF EUROPE.
